Moving forward

Waited so long.....Waited so long.....Yes, 12 plus years in the making and our Telefunken microphone representative Alan "Pickles" Veniscovsky was married in the British Virgin Islands on July 5.  Alan and I started writing songs at the age of 15 and haven't looked back.  Alan came to Umphrey's when he started his new job at Vintage Tones as the national sales manager for Telefunken USA and just started throwing amazing German microphones our way. We thank Alan for all he has done for us and wish him the best of luck moving forward.

Speaking of  moving forward.....

As all of you know, we are hitting the road hard on our most ambitious tour to date in a few days with Sound Tribe Sector 9.  The tour will take all of us to many unique venues, some of which I've waited my professional career to work in (Roseland and Bank of America Pavillion just to name a few).  In the spirit of pure, unadulterated ambition, Adam and I felt it was time to switch gears from our normal lighting rig and seek out the newest and truest technology out there.  In a twist of fate, our lighting vendor (Performance Lighting INC) just so happened to buy a bunch of brand new lights to add to their fleet of movers. I won't give anything away, but they are brighter, faster, and have many more options than our previous moving lights and are sure to compliment STS9's brilliant light rig. We are also travelling with some huge surprises for our headlining gigs that are sure to drop some jaws and create applause.  Bottom line: we are PSYCHED to throw a futuristic rock show with a hint of old school on a much larger stage than we are typically use to.  Tell your friends, cousins, step uncles and roommates this tour is not to be missed; not by a tech geek or rock fan alike.
Get your funds together, put the dog in a kennel, strap on your headgear and GET IN THE VAN.
