52nd Infantry 5th Brigade in Afghanistan. Can't Ya Hear Me Knocking?
Denver has recently launched an eclectic public arts project downtown on the 16th Street mall. About a dozen painted pianos are sprinkled around the main pedestrian corridor of downtown Denver. They are fair game to anyone who wants to tickle the ivories 24/7. Naturally, Joel couldn't resist taking one for a quick spin during our 4th of July weekend in the Great State of Colorado.
More info on the project and the art being made on these pianos here.

We take our live recording seriously here at Umphrey's McGee and strive to bring you a high quality product night after night. Today we take another step to enhance the user experience as we roll out a new and much improved umlive.net, the home of all UM audio downloads. We have streamlined the interface, expanded the search functionality, added featured shows & free downloads, and highlighted top shows & singles. All of this and more should enhance and simplify your experience as you search for UM audio, both new and old.
Just what exactly is so new and much improved you ask?
To begin, we will now have a revolving Featured Show that will highlight a night that we found memorable or particularly noteworthy. This corner will have space for band commentary with our thoughts and a featured fan review for yours. We'll select our favorite review every time we rotate out the featured show so make sure to leave your mark and impress us with cunning wit and charm. In addition, the Featured Show will also have a FREE revolving download just because we love you.
Below that you will now find the seriously robust Show Archive Search. This is designed to help you easily find exactly what you are looking for inside of our archive. Search by a specific song and filter your results by state, city, or year. Want to find every version of Nothing Too Fancy ever played in Ohio? Go nuts. Even search for a guest artist that joined us for a sit in and it will comb through show notes to find what you're after.
To the right you will find a guide pointing out the Top Show Downloads and Top Singles. See what's hot and what's not. Have a friend who's checking out the band for the first time? Send them over here and see where they land.
Once you click on an individual show you'll get all the pertinent details. Set lists, audio samples, show notes, artwork downloads, share buttons via twitter, facebook & email, additional recommendations and reviews are all there. Post your show reviews in here and maybe you'll be selected for the featured home page review.
All in all, we wanted to give you an overall site revamp that looks a little cleaner, functions a little smoother and rocks a little harder. We hope you like the new digs. Stay tuned as we continue to tweak and update the new umlive.net based on your experiences and feedback.
Nice to see you again
